Z610 + RSS

So I finally got tired of the clunkiness which is the Sony Ericsson w900. Its a great phone but its massive and the battery lasts about 2 days max.
So I upgraded to the z610 flip-phone which is thinner and has much better battery life. Its also sexy as hell, and the outer OLED display is very cool which scrolls pertinent information. The software is just an upgraded version of the regular SE with some notable features.
First of all its got integrated support for uploading pics to your Blogger account. Unfortunately its Blogger only, and sets everything up automatically. It would've been nice to just have some open Meta Weblog API support but oh well. At least the new Blogger mobile blog has a feed so I can mix it in with my mBlogger pics. For some strange reason there's no link to the RSS feed (only Atom gets a link), but in the HTML itself there's a link in the head tag. Weird.
Anyways, the coolest feature is the built-in RSS reader. There's no button like the Samsung WiBro that I came across via Dave Winer, but its in the default shortcuts with the little orange icon. Seems like a cool way to introduce people to RSS as it comes listed with Google News and BBC World feeds. Enclosures show up like a link icon and clicking it downloads it to the memory stick, so its not exactly a podcatcher but hey.
You can also get it to update the feed every hour, and disable auto-updating when roaming on another network. Nice job SE!
