Converting fonts on OS X

Posted on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 @ 19:04 CET

Many moons ago I needed to convert some fonts on my Windows machine and found a wonderful utility called FontForge that I had to run under Ubuntu using VMWare.

Now that I'm on OS X, all you need to have installed is X11 (which comes on the install DVD). Then you can download the OS X package from SourceForge. Once its installed, you just have to run X11 and then start FontForge (found in /usr/local/bin/).

Its by no means pretty but for font conversion it works like a charm and is completely free.
