Flash Player 9 Debug Universal Binary aka "the elusive one"

Posted on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 @ 16:19 CET

Earlier I found out that I'd upgraded my Flash player to 9.0.28, but this wasn't the debug version. Finding the debug version of Flash player 9 for Intel Mac is absolutely impossible on the Adobe site. There is an OS X version listed, but its for PPC and won't install on Intel Macs - although thats not explained on the page. In addition, when the installer fails it gives you a link, but that sends you to the release version, not the debug version. Labs only has one debug version available, and thats for Linux. Where are they hiding you?

Anyways, what worked in the end was to reinstall Flex2, which then installs the Universal Binary debug version - which should be available somewhere online IMNSHO.

I did come across this list of all the Flash players which is very useful for testing.

This is really helpful plugin for Firefox from Jensa comment for development on Flex, because there is a lot of differences between flash versions. Why I didn't use it before?
